Hannah invited to Special Screening of The Italian Job, Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, London

Hannah and her daughter were invited to a special screening of The Italian Job at London’s iconic Theatre Royal, Drury Lane to see her father John Clive for the first time on the big screen – with live orchestra and band – marking the 50th anniversary of the making of the film. Beginning with a specially recorded piece to camera by it’s star, introducing himself saying: “My name is Michael Caine” and to hearty applause, he went on to describe how the film came about and how he came to be in it. Only a week before British Father’s Day – this proved to be both an emotive and proud moment for Hannah – five years on from her father’s passing and one that she was very proud indeed to share with her daughter and in such sumptuous surrounds. No tigers were harmed…

I think Dad would have been delighted to know he got the second biggest laugh of the night after “Blowing the bloody doors off!” And d’you know what? I’m pretty sure he knows…
